- SMC Marine was first registered in 1995 as a shore based teaching establishment. Running courses from Day Skipper to Yachtmaster at various locations. From 1997 SMC Marine found a home at Castlereagh College On the outskirts of Belfast for winter night classes but the College discontinued the courses in 2009 due to the withdrawal of central Government funding. However SMC Marine is still able to offer courses to suit small groups and even individuals. We can come to you or you can come to us. I also teach practical Power Boat Courses as an Instructor at Ballyholme Yacht Club under their registration as a practical School. I have also been teaching boat handling and seamanship courses for the British Sub Aqua Club for over 12 years in Northern Ireland as well were I am a member of the Diving Section (BSAC 464) which is part of the Yacht Club.
